Our colourful variety of services around colour and white metrics.

Everyone perceives colour differently. It is therefore important to be able to determine colours objectively and compare them if necessary. With our colour and white metric examinations, you benefit from objective colorimetric values, whiteness assessment and colour and whiteness differences. Furthermore, we also measure, for example, the luminance of warning colours and determine the visibility of camouflage colours in the infrared range by means of reflection measurement.

No matter what the colour is, with the expertise of Hohenstein the future looks anything but grey for your textiles.

Colour and whiteness metric examinations.

Here we determine the colorimetric values and colour distances in the approximately uniform CIELab colour space. In addition, we assess the white quality of white, fluorescent samples for you. This test is especially suitable for:

Textiles of all types: corporate fashion, textiles to be prepared, clothing, etc.

Flat plastic, paper and lacquer surfaces

Compacted powders and yarn packages

Textiles in combination / interaction with fluid or viscous products

Calibration standards.

The Hohenstein whiteness scale serves for the calibration of UV proportions in the lighting of the colorimeter so that the degree of whiteness or fluorescent, white samples can be measured reproducibly.

The prerequisite for this is the Hohenstein illumination control sample, which keeps the UV content in the lighting of the colorimeter constant in order to create optimal and reproducible lighting conditions.
