Hohenstein is a co-founder of the OEKO-TEX® Association and an official institute that can issue OEKO-TEX® certificates as well as product labels. In 1992, Hohenstein developed STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® together with Austrian Textile Research Institute. In addition, Hohenstein is a founding member of the International Test Association for Applied Protection against UV Radiation, participating in working out UV STANDARD 801. As a partner of the German Certification Association for Professional Textile Services Partner since 1953 and a PPE test center, Hohenstein conduct tests and certification according to RAL-GZ 992 as well as the statutory requirements of personal protective equipment. All these make us an internationally recognized testing service provider and a trustworthy partner for research. With our expertise and experiences in the fields of Clothing Physiology, hygiene and medicine, Hohenstein has become an important partner for the world-renowned outdoor sports brands and functional textile manufacturers! Now run by the third generation, Hohenstein currently employs approx. 1,000 people, who offer their customers a wide range of practical and internationally recognised tests and certifications both at the headquarters in Bönnigheim Germany and in the international laboratories and offices abroad in over 40 countries. Since 2007, Hohenstein has entered China market with its state-of-the-art testing capabilities and set up offices in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Fuzhou and Qingdao. In 2011, we established the Hong Kong laboratory which is our first laboratory in Asia to serve brands, manufacturers and retailers in Asia along the entire value chain
